IPF 2010Industrial Physics Forums

Held in conjunction with AIP Member Society meetings, the annual Industrial Physics Forum (IPF) brings together all-invited speakers to address relevant and timely topics in the industrial sector. The IPF explores new applications of physics, product developments, and other opportunities for science in today's economic environment.

In celebration of Laserfest 2010, the 52nd IPF is themed, "Applications of Laser Technology".  It will be held in conjunction with the Frontiers in Optics 2010/Laser Science XXVI, from October 25-26, in Rochester, NY. Three theme sessions range in topic from biomedical applications to environmental applications to metrology.  A special Frontiers in Physics session addresses the most exciting physics research going on today, regardless of field.  This special symposium is presented by the AIP and OSA Corporate Associates.

Corporate Associates Membership

Forge stronger connections with technology and research leaders; exchange ideas and advice with colleagues facing similar R &D challenges.

Summits and Regional events

Summits bring greater attention to mutual concerns of industrial and academic physicists. Regional forums attract scientists with diverse interests from multiple AIP Member Societies.

Prize for the Industrial Applications of Physics

Outstanding contributions to the industrial applications of physics are recognized every two years with this $10,000 award. The contributions may be a product, a process, or a tool that results in a significant industrial development.
